spermSperm washing is a form of sperm preparation that is required prior Spermto IUI or IVF because it removes chemicals from the semen, which may cause adverse reactions in the uterus. During the sperm washing process, the sperms are separated from the seminal fluid. This procedure enhances the fertilizing capacity of the sperm and is therefore recommended in cases with immune system disorders, male-factor or in unexplained infertility. After extracting the motile sperms, they are inseminated into the female partner at the time of her ovulation. This is the time when the chances of her getting pregnant are high during IUI or IVF treatments. This process allows your partner’s sperm a better chance for survival and fertilization.
